The Plan Going Forward

What will the New Year bring to Armored Warfare? Who really knows (and those that do, can't officially say). For me, I have a few things in mind....

First and foremost is to just play the game.

With the addition of the tier X Turkish Altay, I am now in a much better position to earn more credits per battle than before, which is a very good thing when attempting to finance new purchases, upgrades, retrofits and new crew training. The Altay adds an "ownership bonus" to every battle won, especially handy if I have the time to run the gauntlet with all of my other premium assets.

Speaking of those, one of my short term goals is to park the tier VII M1A1 Abrams Storm in my garage.

As it stands right now, I have just under two and one half months to go to complete this task, time permitting of course. However, if time becomes unavailable (that real life thing can get in the way), I have enough Gold leftover from my Holiday spending spree (and collecting 100 Gold for every successful weekly login) to just buy the mission out through BattleCoins I was unable to earn along the way.

I ended this last year by acquiring all but one of the progression Leopards I don't already have. Only the tier VIII 2A5 will have to be "played for," since all the others were unlocked by other means or already sitting around, collecting dust.

There is one premium vehicle I want to pick up, the tier VIII Leopard 2A4 Revolution, but only on sale at a fantastic price (I bought the Chinese Type 96B Red Dragon for 6750 Gold, so waiting for that kind of value to roll around should be worth it).

Since I mentioned China, that is the other "line of focus" for the coming year. With my progress on the mainline at tier VIII with the Type 99, I might just continue down the secondary line, starting with the Type 96 at tier VI. Having said that, I noticed that Zhang Fen as some other interesting vehicle I might just explore with too.

Progress on the tier IX Challenger 2 Hades premium MBT has been slow, but it is meant to be a long term achievement. Coupled with the fact I am one in a two man Battalion and my son isn't interested in playing Armored Warfare for the time being....yeah, you should get the idea.

As for the cache of vehicle parts and pieces, I am not going to go out of my way to try and assemble the BMPT Model 2017, since I already have a Terminator Reaper, do I really need another one? Besides, I can sell those and the Wasteland Crate parts and for Gold, if needed.

The Type 90 parts are currently locked, along with the associated crates, so not much I can do about those.

So, there you go. I have laid out my plans for the coming year, based on currently available information based on fact and known assets. I could have brought up the discussion of French vehicles or the tier X AFT-10 premium Chinese missile machine, but those are only rumors at this point. However, if they (and more) become a reality, I might have to make a few amendments to this Armored Warfare "Master Plan."

Before The Altay

Since then, the premium Centauro 120 Wolf has been a solid mainstay in my garage.

I was completely honest when I bought it not for the "Hey, look at me and what I got factor," but as an investment asset, since higher tiered opponents have a higher income payout potential, over less hitpoint lower tiered adversaries. The same reasoning applied to my decision on the tier X Turkish Altay, just not nearly the same bargain as the Centauro.

Despite many, many hours of battletime and developing a cautious playstyle in this unlikely favorite, I still have moments where I "get caught with my pants down...."

Another Eight Is Not Enough

Oh look, another Leopard for me in Armored Warfare!

A short time ago, I managed to finally complete the journey through the tier VII M1A1 Abrams and while the next logical and progressive step would have been to purchase the M1A2, I took another route.

At the end of November, the Leopard series was announced as the Branch of the Month, namely for December and I wanted to take full advantage of this. So, now you know why I picked up the tier IX 2A6, the tier VIII 2A4 Evolution and very soon, I will showcase the tier VII Leopard 2.

I have always thought you can never have too many cats in the house and there is one more I am waiting for, if the price is right. In the meantime, join me for my disapointing first battle with the 2A4 Evo....

Identity Crisis?

If there is one thing about Armored Warfare that always surprises me, one just never knows what new bug/glitch in the programing will pop up. Can you see what is wrong in this picture?

Messing With The Merc MBT

Based on some feedback I got from a viewer, it appears that some of my Armored Warfare videos have a lag issue. After fiddling with detail and resolution settings in the game, coupled with switching from Nvidia ShadowPlay to OBS, here are the initial results....

From The Ashes

What I had hoped to be a spectacular ending battle in Armored Warfare with my tier VIII M2A3 Bradley, turned into a smoking hulk in the desert and my team securing the victory with no further casualties.

Win, lose or draw, I knew this was going to be the first part of my "Grand Plan"....

Out With The Old, Planning On The New

As 2018 comes to a close and 2019 starts up, I am going to use these final few days to clean up some leftover things in Armored Warfare and ready up for the New Year.

One thing that caught me off guard recently was the opportunity to fight with another Altay in battle. Not that I have been keeping an exact track of tier X premiums I have encountered, but by far, the Black Eagle has been the most common one I have seen. I have spotted few T-14 152's, along with sporadic sightings of a Type 99A2-140 and not a single Monster Sphinx.

As it goes for the Altay, I had instant "buyer's remorse" from spending the largest chunk of real world money in this game to date (that's not going to happen again in the near future), but the vehicle itself has proven itself to be practical (in a gaming sense), fun and very capable in battles.

The novelty of the tier V M551 Sheridan Hi-Tech had worn off rather quickly, since this has been the only vehicle I used to complete the Arabian Nights Light Tank achievement.

Unlike the Main Battle Tank or Armored Fighting Vehicle portions, where I had a few different vehicle I could choose from, the Sheridan (including the non-premium, progression version of the same thing) is all I had in the Light department and I wasn't really in the mood to grind out anything beyond that (or purchasing a premium vehicle).

One final battle....

....and completed, ready to move on to the next challenge.

As for Warlords of the Wasteland, I noticed I was really close to rolling Mission 4 into 5....

....just one okayish battle in my tier X Leopard 2AX....

....and viola, done.

All setup and ready to go (of course I am not going to stop, merely a snapshot of where I was at the time of this posting).

Aside from all of that, I have been quietly aligning my progress to make a major assault on acquiring many models of my favorite tank line, just part of my "Grand Plan" for the New Year.

Gelido design tedesco

The Winter Calendar event is over and now it's the in-between time from that and New Years, in both the real world and Armored Warfare. I had high hopes this celebration was going to end with one more premium vehicle to be given away and I wasn't disappointed.

Over the years, I had both the funds (real money and Gold) to pick this vehicle up, but just never did, good thing I waited, since you never know when patience finally pays off.

Nestled between the tier III Leopard 1 and tier V upgraded 1A5 variant, the license built Italian Leopard shares almost all of the same attributes, except for giving up a fair amount of armor in the turret.

Despite the fact the OF-40 progression vehicle was removed with Update 0.27 (anyone who had it before the changes, keeps it as a "legacy" vehicle) and the time has passed to collect this as a free premium, this same vehicle can be had from both Myloot and the Webshop on a more permanent basis.

Now that I finally have mine, was it worth the wait?

Tis The Season, Part 2

In Armored Warfare, I experimented with some "Chinese Speed" in an attempt to wrap up....yeah, I said that....the five missions requirements for the Capture the Gifts event.

Through a promo code a long time ago now, I picked up the then tier III ZBD-86 Neon Armored Fighting Vehicle. Due to being a low tiered and no real forward gun depression asset, I didn't play with it a whole lot.

I did remember it was rather quick of the line and when it it really boogies down the road, it's the fastest thing I have driven in the game. I did rather well with the tier VIII Type 96 Red Dragon for my first outing, so I decided to take a trip into the lower tiers and rip around with the ZBD. It paid off.

Just to catch things up, here was Day 22 through 24 of the Holiday Gift Boxes, just in case you were wondering.

On the "Storm Front," I have banked up enough BattleCoins to roll over to the next task....

....and the rewards from the last with help with the next.

For some odd reason, I cashed in 114 Crates I had stored up. I was curious to see what I could collect, outside the usual Gold, Insignias and Credits (not that these are bad things, but a rare premium vehicle is always a welcome thing for me). Sadly, Fate decided to play cruel jokes on me.

I am not a big fan of vehicle rentals as prizes. I feel teased that I can give it a try and in the case of two of the vehicles you see here, can never buy.

As much as somebody (or a few folks) out the reading this would have liked for me to have made videos about them, I just can't torture myself (in the very strong case of the tier IX VT5 Chinese premium Light Tank) into doing it. However, I will share screenshots of their statistics.

Today is also the last day for gifts from my.com and Armored Warfare.

I was rather surprised to see the generosity found in the special Christmas Gift Box and gladly accept them for future use and enjoyment. Of course, Day 25 Holiday Gift Box had one thing I was hoping would end this event off with, a new-to-me premium vehicle....

Tis The Season

The Christmas Season (or Holidays for you other folks) has come to Armored Warfare.

In the real world, I am as busy as you could expect, helping out with family events and activities involving dinners, presents and transportation coordinator.

During one of my shopping excursions, I came across a rather novel idea for a Christmas tree ornament. Although it's a cheap toy from a Dollar Store, the passing resemblance to an Armored Warfare BMPT Terminator (or BMOP Ramka-99 if you prefer) was too irresistible to pass up. Tie some string for the dangle effect....we shall see.

Despite the flurry of stuff going on in one reality, I have found the time to play Armored Warfare, albeit in the wee hours of the morning, when I should be sleeping.

For the LT portion of Arabian Nights, I am now halfway through, just ten more battles to go.

The next day, I was somewhat surprised with another update and of course, the Holiday garage and themed event. Because I have to spending sleeping time to play, I captured this unannounced special without my lovely face in the corner, nor my soothing voice calling the action....

Arabian Night Light

Using the reward of one Armored Warfare achievement to accomplish another.

Light Tanks are not my most proficiently used vehicle. I have never trusted my skills with fast, maneuverable but highly vulnerable assets. However, the main cannon for this one does come in rather handy for being a premium vehicle and generating credits and damage....

Three down, only seventeen more to go (I know I said forty in total, I don't know what I was thinking at the time)!

Storm Watch

While playing Armored Warfare, I haven't come across another premium tier X Turkish Altay (thus far), but I did get the chance to see the M1A1 Abrams Storm in action.

Now, I don't know if it's the player who used it, their choices in crew skills and retrofits....

....or even the vehicle itself (since it is nearly equal to the same tier VII progression version, ingnore the 1 figures and 100% camo rating, merely lazy placeholders), I wasn't too overly impressed with what I saw.

Nevertheless, one sighting and it's observed performance hasn't discouraged me from completing this task and parking one in my garage.

One another goal path, I have made a small start on the next Hades chapter.
