Cashing In To Kicking It Up

With just a few hours left in the current Age of Rage campaign in Armored Warfare, I cash in one last time, for much needed Gold to be used towards funding my "prize journey," the tier IX Stryker ADATS.

After that, I was off (in the virtual sense) to Denver, Colorado....again. This time, from Hardcore to the Extreme in my tier X Challenger 2 ATDU, with my boy looking on from behind.

Getting Grabby And Glitches

Yeah....best we not talk about this incident right now.

It seems I was either wrong or misinformed about the ongoing state of the current Battle Path in Armored Warfare. In just over 48 hours (at the time of this posting), it will come to an end.

Once I found out the correct information, I spent the last two days (with breaks, sleep and family time) trying to further my advancement and collect what I could.

Can't go wrong with camouflage....

....and another BattleCoin Booster that will come in handy for the next series of events. Although there is still some time left on the clock, I am not going to try too hard to collect much more (and besides, any bonuses to battles have pretty much expired, so that would be many, many hours of gaming).

As a side note, if you are looking at spending some real world money on some stuff, you can check these out.

Returning to the first picture you saw, there seems to be an odd series of glitches and other strange happenings in Armored Warfare. Take this first Extreme American Dream battle in my tier X Challenger 2 ATDU (more so at the end)....

The Mile High City

After a long work day and a very early flight in the morning, I don't have much to say here about my latest adventures in Armored Warfare.

But, I did have time to say it all in this video....

Так долго москва

By the time you read this, the Moscow Calling campaign in Armored Warfare will have been gone for a little over a day now.

In announcement made two days ago (at the time of this posting), it seems the couple days extension was just sidestepped and now we are onto the next chapter of things called American Dream.

Here's a quick look at what I got before they pulled the plug on Moscow Calling....

M50 Ontos Tier IV Tank Destroyer.

It's not that I really wanted this vehicle, but it is one of the things to be picked up along the progression path for Age of Rage.

A quick, no armor and highly inaccurate battlefield pest that you as a player get to control. I will be perfectly honest here, I don't like it and doubt I will be using it much in the future.

ZUBR PSP Tier VII Tank Destroyer.

Not part of the Age of Rage campaign per say, but a vehicle I really wanted.

Like other wheeled tank destroyers, the ZUBR PSP is thin skinned and quick. However, what separates this machine from it's peers is the changeable modules for a cannon to missile and vice versa.

M-95 Degman Tier VIII Main Battle Tank.

Once this vehicle was made available, I  spent around $12.00 CAD to buy into the process of acquiring it.

Very much in line with Soviet/Russian T-72 series machines for armor and firepower, the Degman has proven itself to me to be the wise investment I hoped it was. No major disappointments to report.

I also spent almost all of my remaining BattleCoins for as much advancement in the Age of Rage campaign I could get, since I was lead to believe it wasn't continuing forward.

On a spending spree of a different kind, I unlocked the first upgrade for the ZUBR PSP and hoped I will be able to do the same in the future for the others.

Now that American Dream is finally here, this is how the first chapter played out and things I learned about my progress in other things....

The Desert Of Defeat

A sad but true fact when it comes to video games, you don't always win.

This is especially the case in combat themed titles, such as Armored Warfare, where victory comes from the strength of a good team and a mostly dead team can leave behind too much for the survivors to handle....

More Of A Note To Myself Than Anything

With an adjusted ten days left in the Age of Rage campaign (a recent patch added three days to the original remaining time, read about that here), I just wanted to post a screenshot of my progress of to this current point.

For No Particular Reason, Part 7

With continuing high hopes of getting something really good (and permanent), here's is another round opening Crates of wonder in Armored Warfare....

It Seemed Like A Good Idea

Let me start things off with another refresh of things, like the new header picture of this very blog.

A few days ago now, there was an alarming announcement (to some in the playerbase) about the discontinuation of 32 bit support for Armored Warfare, you can read those details here. I didn't spend too much time poking around, but I did discover I have a 64 bit gamemode already installed (if I am to believe both the upper and lower screenshots I took).

I guess December will tell me if I have interpreted things correctly, or not.

Next up, I bid Au revoir, prends soin de toi to the tier V AMX-13 DCA, a French version of the Russian Terminator, without the missiles. What a fun, deadly and very lucrative little machine.

Finally, with a new intro to go along with my "refreshed theme," I took out my tier VII ZUBR PSP, but I swapped out the cannon module for missiles. I wanted to create a kinda preview for the next big premium to be earned in the upcoming American Dream campaign....

Gold Digging To Surprise Termination

Well, I have collected enough Gold for what I would consider to be a minimum threshold for a new, high tiered premium vehicle in Armored Warfare.

For the full price of 14k Gold, I could park a premium tier IX Leclerc T40 in my garage. From the moment I heard, way back when now, that this "French Terminator" was coming to Armored Warfare, I was very excited to see it in battle and held on to serious considerations to acquire one. Now that I have enough to get one, I find myself looking at any other options (influenced by the fact I spent under $12.00 CDN for the tier VIII M-95 Degman premium MBT).

A machine that is currently "In Development" has piqued my interest on a higher level than the Leclerc T40 is the Stryker ADATS. Now, anybody has been following my content for some time will know I have a "soft spot" for wheeled vehicles and this version of the Stryker would make a very nice addition to to my upper tier premiums.

According to this article, the Stryker ADATS will be an earnable premium, much in the same fashion of how I picked up the tier VII ZUBR PSP. It is also a forgone conclusion that it will be more that 300 points to collect one, but if the "quick complete" for Gold is reasonable enough, it could be a cheaper vehicle than the Leclerc T40. I will give my thoughts when the new campaign starts and I see what is really required to get one.

Now, I could bypass the waiting part, dive deep into my wallet and buy what is being called the "Chinese Terminator," solely on the sales pitch alone. First, no stats on the vehicle? Second, the steep real world price? Third (now this is based on the time of this posting), no gameplay video or review from a credible content creator?  I think I will just take the free stuff and pass on this deal.

However, I did play the very vehicle that inspired the Chinese QN-506, the tier IX Terminator 2....

Algo chamado Sucuri

I have added another multi-wheeled vehicle to my garage in Armored Warfare, the tier VI Brazilian made EE-18 Sucuri II. To find out more about this machine, check out Armored Warfare's article here.

To see me in action with this new asset, watch this....

The Next Chapter

With twenty days to go in the Age of Rage campaign in Armored Warfare, they went and announced what is coming soon. Check out those details (although these are patchnotes for the 0.30 Public Test Server, a lot of what is being offered will carry over to the Live Server when the update drops) here.

One paragraph that caught my attention was this, "The new prize will be a Tier 9 Premium Tank Destroyer called Stryker ADATS – a Stryker chassis with a turret featuring not only very fast ATGMs, but also unguided rockets.

It's worth noting that if you obtained the ZUBR PSP prize vehicle during the earlier Moscow Calling contract but have not completed its upgrade objectives, the American Dream contracts will also count towards those."

I certainly hope the second part they are talking about has to do with the above picture (my current progress, after parking the ZUBR PSP in my garage).

As for the Striker ADATS, you might be wondering just what that is. Well, here is an article on the Armored Warfare version, along with other preliminary info for the next campaign.

Speaking of the winding down campaign, I have completed (except for the vehicle skins, since I am not interested in those) the missions, mostly for the Crates and extra Gold. My Battle Path progress is at Rank 13, with the next vehicle (the tier VII BWP-2000 premium Tank Destroyer) coming in at Rank 30.

Unless I decide to chain myself to my chair and bypass eating, sleeping or family attention, I think I have got all I am going to get from this event and I am okay with this.

On a final note, Armored Warfare is celebrating another event, this time honoring tank crews. Crates, camouflage for a very specific vehicle and decals for free. Those details are here.

Obligatory Ontos

The tier IV M50 Ontos from Armored Warfare was a vehicle I wasn't even remotely interested in acquiring. Although I go into a lot more detail about this in the following video, I felt I should still showcase this "forced choice" for those collectors who "must have" this, or players who are just curious at the capabilities (and limitations) of this machine....

La prophétie de Mephisto

This past while, I was finishing up the progress on two vehicles in Armored Warfare. First to be completed was the tier VII Leclerc Prototype, a machine that was a pleasant surprise to use (since the developers at Armored Warfare could have taken a much different direction with almost all of Francine De Laroche's offerings). Excellent main gun, respectable reload time, very good maneuverability and effective armor. I will miss this one.

Another recent retiree is the tier V Rooikat 76. This South African Armored Fighting Vehicle was a blast to use (even with my affinity towards wheeled vehicles), but it had some rather odd limitations.  The low damage-per-shot was slightly offset by the rapid reload, it was slow to take off and was a bit on the squirrelly side in the steering department when going fast and the armor was nearly nonexistent (to be expected though). Too bad it was also a dead end in the Oscar Faraday tree, leading to no other vehicle.

Now, I have the tier VIII VCAC Mephisto and time to see if any of the bad vibes I have picked up from watching others use this in battles are true and get passed on to me....

For No Particular Reason, Part 6

Here's another round of opening Crates in Armored Warfare, but I also spend the remainder of BattleCoins I had left over from the D-D-D-Degman episode.

Sunday 1 September 2019

D-D-D-Degman

So, I decided to spend some Real World money and finally buy into the Age of Rage Campaign in Armored Warfare. I also decided the end goal of parking a tier X Object 490 in my garage will be scrapped. Instead, here is a video about my first choice of vehicles, with all the blunders (like calling my Chinese premium Red Dragon MBT a Type 96A) getting thrown in and the best of technical errors as an added bonus....

If you want to just skip to the end....
