May It Be Good

Here it is, another start to a new month and what is going on with Armored Warfare?

Well, if you are in the mood to spend some real money, there are two premium vehicles up for offer. One is the the tier IX Abrams AGDS (Armored Ground Defense System) and the other is the tier IV IS-7. Read about those here, or head straight to the check out there.

If free is more the price you are willing to pay, don't worry, that is covered too! Check out this link for details and instructions.

I don't know about the Red Basepaint, looks too much like the vehicle is covered in blood.

China Watchdog

Oddly enough, I really don't have any exciting adventures from Armored Warfare to share.

This past weekend was a X5 event for PvE and I was merely trying to make the most of this to speed up the progress on a few vehicles (time permitting, of course). With no new assets added to my garage, progression or premium, there wasn't anything to showcase. Even the battles could be viewed as somewhat pedestrian. Well, there were bad episodes in a few Hardcore sorties, but let's just forget those happened....

I did get noticed by a player during one battle, a name I haven't seen in literally years (and this particular battle ended in a horrible defeat).

The only excursion worthy of sharing would be this cautiously started to recklessly aggressive near the end last battle of this bonus weekend (which runs until early Tuesday morning, but ends for me on a Monday late afternoon) in my tier VI Chinese Type 96.

Leopard Of Ice

For this Easter Weekend, Armored Warfare has a few things going on.

First off, they are having a sale of all ICE Edition vehicles (all of which are main battle tanks), Object 430 ICE Tier IV, OF-40 ICE Tier IV, T-72AV ICE Tier V, M60A3 ICE Tier V and the Leopard 2AV ICE Tier VI (not that I was trying to collect them, but I have all them, except for the M60A3 ICE). For more details on that, check out this link. I was checking out the Web Shop and it would appear there are not on any kind of Gold discount.

A Holiday in Armored Warfare wouldn't be complete without decals and to cover that, go here, collect yours and have a look at the other goodies that are being offered.

An excuse as good as any, I decided to roll out with my own Leopard 2AV ICE and battled it out on a snowy themed map....

Imagine if Armored Warfare had a coin-op clone (Revisited)?

Over three years ago, I tried out and wrote up a bit of a review for the then recently released game demo called Gear Guns.

Back then, I wasn't making gameplay videos to accompany the articles I write, like I do now, instead I resorted to using mostly screenshots to add visuals to the written words. As for the game itself, I didn't progress very far (this certain bridge proved to be a very formidable obstacle) and like many of my other projects, Gear Guns was put off to the side and slowly forgotten about over time.

Now, inspired by a similar vehicle in another game, I decided to come back and revisit this title, armed with all the skills I have acquired since I played it last....

Call It A "I Did That?" Moment

One of the reasons why I haven't been able to showcase a lot of new (not necessarily new to the game, but new to my garage) vehicles from Armored Warfare is the long progression requirements between the the tiers. Granted, there has been a few recently added premiums to the game, but most are lower tier (or have a wacky, permanent camouflage scheme, or just another version of existing assets) and they don't really interest me.

But getting back to the progression side of things, in order to move from a current vehicle to the next, with a decent measure of advancement requires a fair amount of time (which I don't have a whole lot of extra to spare these days) and wining results (one still collects Reputation and Credits on a defeat, but not even close to the same scale as a victory).

It is during the time I can find to play, when the gameplay cameras are turned off, I am grinding out my current vehicles towards the next in line, like my tier VIII Ramka-99 (BMPT Terminator). At the time of this posting, I am around 65% completed progress, fully upgraded and always hoping to capitalize to the maximum during every battle.

Sometimes, the spirit of defeat is too strong to overcome, other times, the victory shows me the effort I put in as quantified metrics I have never seen before....

Bringing Up There Down Here

On April 12, 1961, Soviet Cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin blasted off from the Baikonur Cosmodrome aboard Vostok 1 and completed a single orbit of the Earth, becoming the first man in space.

Almost 50 years later, on April 7, 2011, the 65th session of the United Nations General Assembly passed resolution A/RES/65/271 declaring every April 12th going forward to be the International Day of Human Space Flight.

Armored Warfare has decided to offer skins for both the tier V Object 279 (Mir) and tier VII T-80U (Spacewalker, which was previously available as a separate premium vehicle).

For details on those, click here to check it out at MyLoot (real world money) or here for the WebShop (Gold option).

If free fits better into your budget, click on the MyLoot link here and check out the Chests section for the above items.

I don't own an Object 279 nor the previously released T-80U Spacewalker and the skins don't interest me. However, I do have a normal T-80U, but I haven't played with it in quite some time....

The Wane Of The Wasteland

As I look back over this event, I am rather pleased (even if I did feel pressured at times) at my accomplishments and acquisitions. My main goal was to part the tier X Turkish Altay in my garage and thanks to back when the NA/EU forums were still up and running, I was able to do so, thanks to the observations, calculations and discussions that took place. Here's my thoughts when it first arrived.

The secondary and more time consuming goal I set for myself was the tier VII Abrams Storm.

Of all the vehicles being offered as prizes during this campaign, the Storm was the only one that appeared to offer value for the effort. Here were my comments on finally getting it and it's first battle.

Since the banked up BattleCoins won't carry over into the next event....

....might as well cash those in for some extra Credits.

Combing through my inventory, It was time to clean up for the next campaign comes.

I had already made up my mind I wasn't going to buy in the BMPT Model 2017 crates, with Gold or real money, so I decided to collect the payout for selling those pieces.

The same went for Wasteland Crates.

All done with old business, time for new business.

Can't Think Outside The Missile Box

Because, the best place I heard to take selfies is the bathroom....

Nevertheless, I have hit a crossroads of sorts in Armored Warfare. I will repeat it in the video at the end of all of this (if you watch it), but I feel like I have run out of ideas. Sometimes, I do something that aligns with a current special or event, other times it's just a random thing that comes to me (depending on the mood).

And since it takes a very long time (which I don't have a lot of) for a casual player (which I am these days) to grind out mid to upper tier machines, the gaps between videos and articles becomes wider, without having to resort to using Free Reputation to narrow down the gaps.

For the sake of doing something new, I have done the latter....

Non è una scatola divertente

For April in Armored Warfare, it's all out Chinese MBT's as the Branch of the Month!

While I already ran a series of video in timing with the Chinese New Year back this past February, so putting out all new videos on these vehicles so soon wouldn't reveal any new value to discover. Having said that, click on the link above and read through the articles and consider your purchasing choices.

My choice to showcase isn't either an MBT or even Chinese....
