Right now, there is a giveaway promotion for the new tier V Main Battle Tank, Chieftain Mk VI. As I was reading through the release post here https://aw.my.com/us/news/general/introducing-chieftain-mk6 I came across this....
"In Armored Warfare the Chieftain Mk.6 is a special Tier 5 Main Battle Tank that will not be sold or unlocked like a regular vehicle. Instead, it is currently available by the means of Streamer, Youtuber and Blogger giveaways. However, in the future the players will be able to obtain it by other means as well, such as conventions, player gatherings or charity events."
One thing I found odd, no list of who these bloggers, streamers and/or Youtubers might be. Digging with almost no effort, I started to read through the discussion post on the forums here https://aw.my.com/en/forum/showthread.php?57626-Introducing-the-Chieftain-Mk-6 and at the time of this posting, no leads on who there are (well, there is one person's name being brought up, but I won't repeat it here, for reasons I don't want to disclose).
For me, it would be kinda neat to either collect one of these for myself and/or hand out codes for it to other folks. On the flipside, I am somewhat satisfied with my MBT-70 MERC and Leopard 2AV ICE for higher tiered action, Type 59 Legend and T-62 Veteran for the lower tiered excursions.
Either way, it will be interesting to see how this all plays out. Will it be a good public relations/advertising move for Obsidian? Will the playerbase, or some members of it, leave over the negative perception of this action? Will I get one or have the opportunity to hand a few out myself to others?
