Winter Warrior, OF-40 ICE

I highly doubt there will be a gift vehicle from this year's Winter Calendar in Armored Warfare.

The reasoning behind this thought appears to be pretty obvious to me, the ongoing Battle Path to earn American themed machines. However, with fourteen more days to go (at the time of this posting) left in this year's Winter Calendar, there still could be a wheeled or tracked surprise (a permanent one, not another rental).

And if that happens, I will say I was wrong.

In the meantime, I have gone ahead with a half retrospective, half showcase of the collectables from the 2018 Winter Calendar, starting with the tier IV OF-40. For the looking back part, have a peek at what I wrote when I first got this particular vehicle, then see how it stands up now....

Calendar, Sale And Progress

So, a premium vehicle finally comes to Armored Warfare's Winter Calendar!

The catch is it's only a 3 Day rental. I also noticed there is either a delay in collecting the prize (or in my case, compensation for already owning it), or I just don't get it (for the same reason). Also, no point making a new video about this machine, but here's one made less than two weeks ago (at the time of this posting)....

Now, after seeing that and you are still interested in picking up a permanent Challenger 1 Wolf (or another Wolf Edition vehicle) for your garage, check out the details here.

For the Battle Path portion of things, I got a good start on the Challenge portion....

....and now have graduated on to a second tier of the same Fort Know mission.

Firestarter was the Mission I selected for this Battle Path.

Out of the three vehicle choices, I already had a tier VI MBT-70 Merc so I didn't want another "plain Jane" version. That left two machines to pick from and since I value armor for more forgiving gameplay, the RDF/LT won out.

The objective looked downright impossible to pull off and was fully prepared to come back to it, if I had Battle Coins left over from my attempt to complete my main Rank 50 goal.

Lady Luck decided something else for me tonight (at the time of this posting).

On to the next objective.

Marching With Sergeant York

The Last Patriot Battle Path in Armored Warfare is underway!

Pictured above is everything that can be earned (minus BattleCoins, Gold and Credits) over the next 92 days, should you choose to get in on the action. Here's how, with all the details you need to know.

Before I continue with The Last Patriot, here is a look at what I have collected from the Winter Calendar Event (I did indeed get the first day rewards, no clue about why). Nothing too special, thus far....

This is the screen a player will see before starting the campaign.

Of course, I had my early, discounted  "Buy In" on stand-by and now was the time to activate it.

From 42,500 Coins to the total you see above, put the first premium vehicle in my garage, the tier V XM247 Sergeant York, a machine I didn't have very high expectations for. Wow, I was so wrong....

Lastly, I loaded up the tier IX M8-120 Thunderbolt II Light Tank to start the ball rolling on collecting some bonuses.

M-M-M-Machine Guns!

Up until the most recent update in Armored Warfare, the only main battle tanks that had machine guns as secondary weapons was the French AMX 30B2 (and premium Brenus model) and AMX 40. Although some might dispute 20mm cannons as machine guns....

Now, a whole lot more MBT's have a similar, but less powerful option. Read more of that here, see it in action here....

A Tank Full Of Changes

Armored Warfare's latest update brings all kinds of changes and new things to the game, where to start?

Let's start here.

First off, everything that has to do with Armored Warfare is now under the my.games banner, from the new portal address to the replacement of loot.my.com. Even the old Web Shop link is different.

The second part for this year's Winter Calendar is already underway (I noticed I missed out on the first day, sheesh), more information on that can be found here and the daily tracker is here (login will be required).

If you happen to be in the mood to spend some real world cash, here's the latest offer featuring some pretty rare vehicles.

Roll The Dice And Pay The Price

With the big switchover to My.Games service in a few days time, I figured I would spend some banked up myCoins at loot.my.com (too many mys in my opinion). Since I am lacking Credits, I took a gamble on the odds at cashing in big. Yeah, I should have seen those results coming....

For the last cash purchase of the year, I went with something that had guaranteed results.

During the last Age of Rage Battle Path/Moscow Calling campaign, the top prize was the Soviet Object 490, a tier X experimental vehicle that never saw the light of a real production day. Needless to say, my interest level in acquiring one wasn't very high and I set my goals on the lesser tier VII ZUBR PSP premium Czech tank destroyer....

....and the tier VIII M-95 Degman, a prototype Croatian main battle tank.

For this current Last Patriot BattlePath/American Dream campaign, I have already collected the tier IX Stryker ADATS....

....and look forward to my attempt at the top vehicle, the American tier X CATTB (Component Advanced Technology Test Bed) MBT.

Walk The Line, Challenger 2 ATDU

In Armored Warfare, the tier X Challenger 2 ATDU is the end of the line for British main battle tanks.

The adventure that begins at tier III with the Chieftain Mk.2 culminates with a modern machine with excellent armor and devastating firepower, with a touch of forgiveness for the odd lapse in judgment and/or overconfidence....
